Upon
entry horses must:
1. Be at least 20 years old, pasture sound and be in reasonably good health.
2. Be accompanied by a Veterinary certificate stating that the horse is
pasture sound and free from communicable diseases.
3. Have a Negative coggins test with in six months of admittance.
4. Be current with Rabies and Tetanus vaccinations.
5. Have had Teeth checked and floated if necessary within the past 6 months.
6. Have been Dewormed within 30 days of entry.
have been shod or trimmed within one month.
Upon entry an owner
must:
1. Enter into a signed agreement with Mitchell Farm Retirement Inc. which
relinquishes all rights and ownership to the horse.
2. Remit a one-time admittance fee of at least $6000. Additional monthly
or annual donations for the care of the horse are always welcome.
In return Mitchell
Farm Equine Retirement, Inc. promises to:
1. Provide a safe, clean and adequate stall. Feed, Hay & bedding.
2. Provide adequate pasture when weather and conditions permit.
3. Blanket when deemed necessary.
4. Provide for all farrier needs.
5. Provide all routine Veterinary care. (Vaccinations, deworming, dental)
6. Provide simple emergency care and diagnostics: (lacerations, fever,
mild colic, radiographs, blood testing.) Life threatening injuries and
illnesses will be dealt on farm with our local Veterinarian only. Off
site surgery and other cost prohibitive procedures will not be an option.
Euthanasia will be an option only when, in conjunction with a licensed
Veterinarian, it has been deemed that the horse no longer has Quality
of Life.
7. Burial on these premises at the time of death or Euthanasia.
